Final pumpkin update.

Well in the end my pumpkins were killed off by a fungal infection before they were fully grown. Seems like it was a fairly bad year for pumpkins judging from the quality of the pumpkins in the shops.

This is the last photo I took of the best pumpkin before it started going funny.

Next year I plan to grow more plants and use fungicides if need be. Hopefully I should end up with a fully grown fruit next time.

Pumpkins!!!

Its been a while since I posted a pumpkin update and the only surviving original has grown really big.

Over a month ago it looked like this...

and now its grown this big!

First Male flowers started to appear...

then female flowers....

and finally one tiny pumpkin fruit.

Already there have been a few problems with the plant. I am currently battling what seems to be a fungal infection in one part of the plant and the first fruit was not pollinated so rotted and fell off but fingers crossed I will have at least one pumpkin by Halloween!

Another Pumpkin Update

Since I last posted about my pumpkins, two of them have sadly withered. But the final pumpkin, the one nicknamed blue, is still growing strong. Hopefully it will continue to flourish and I'll have my very own pumpkin fruit soon. Just in case it doesn't I'm growing some extra seedlings as reserve plants.

Pumpkins Planted!

Weather was quite nice today so I planted my pumpkins. Hope they'll be alright!!!

By the way their names are:
Green

Blue

and Red

I named them after the colour of the pots they were planted in.

Pumpkin Update

My pumpkins have grown a lot. I've been meaning to plant them outside but its been a bit too chilly for the past week. The weather seems to have picked up a bit now so I'll give it a go tomorrow.

Pumpkins

I recently started doing something I've wanted to do for a long time. Grow my own pumpkins from scratch!

I planted 3 seeds which quickly sprouted.

I repotted them about a week ago and they've already grown this much!!!

Cactus Baby

It looks like my cactus is growing another baby.

Well, I know its just a division of the main plant but I'm excited anyway. Yays.
